Competition 50 entrants from 3 years – 15 Years

Well, another year over, and all went well sort of.

One judge fell back to sleep and turned up late, one got lost and arrived with seconds to spare, one had to cancel through her child's' sickness….but we got there in the end!

We had a mad start because usually the centre staff are marvellous in setting out our apparatus for us for the past 4 years, but this year, for one reason or another, somehow it just wasn't done...so I turned up to an empty hall and had a major panic on my hands. All got set up eventually though and we only had a delay in the end of just over half an hour, which I thought wasn't bad at all in the circumstances. :)

We had a number of little'uns this year - 7 under 5's - 4 of them only 3 years old! They looked brilliant and worked so hard...it was difficult not to award each and every one of them with a medal.

We did, however, manage to give each entrant their own specially and individually designed competition entrant certificate appropriate to their age. We also gave all entrants their own special little prize - thus easing any upset for those that didn't take away a medal or cup this year.

Apart from these minor points everything went beautifully. All the pupils were brilliantly behaved and performed their little, and not so little,hearts out, the staff and judges worked very well and very hard together - thank you.

And thanks to all our parents/spectators for your patience in the heat.

Our Celebrity tirelessly autographed our entrants' competition certificates, had pictures taken with the children all afternoon and finished off by presenting our cups and medals. She thoroughly enjoyed the whole event and was obviously very impressed with you all.

My heart nearly burst with pride watching you all march around the hall in time to the Fanfare march, in and out of step! hahah - so sweet.

There's only one thing that would have made the day even more brilliant and that would be to give everyone a medal. Still, that's the nature of compeitions.
